Lend a friend a hand

Managing is about getting people to do what you want them to do.

This is one of the most difficult things to do. Experienced managers have taken years to learn about managing (often the hard way). And we forget what a difficult transition it is to go from being an individual contributor to managing staff. I studied business but the one thing I really wish that I had learnt about at the beginning of my career was how to manage people effectively.

In the Articles I've Demonstrated:

  • How difficult managing staff is and why most managers have staff problems;
  • More than half of your staff are unengaged and this is costing you time and money;
  • There are some totally ineffective management techniques such as asking someone "why" they did something wrong and;
  • In the power of positive feedback I showed that there are some quick, easy, non-confrontational methods that are highly effective when you know how.
